Position Overview:
JOIN Israel is seeking a detail-oriented Development Assistant to support fundraising, donor engagement, and development operations. This role works directly for the Director of Development and is ideal for an early-career professional interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit development and event fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Engagement Support:
-Assist with planning, coordination, and staffing of fundraising and engagement events, including young leadership events, galas, film screenings, and parlor meetings
-Research and help secure venues, speakers, and vendors
-Create and distribute event invitations, flyers, and promotional materials
-Communicate with guests and provide on-site support at Tri-State area events
Development & Administrative Support:
-Conduct donor research and prospect tracking
-Coordinate meeting logistics, scheduling, and reminders
-Maintain and update the donor database
-Assist with mass mailings and email campaigns
-Prepare and send donor receipts, acknowledgements, and thank-you communications
-Provide general administrative support as needed

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree preferred (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
-English fluency required; Hebrew preferred
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
-Experience with Salesforce, Mailchimp, and Canva preferred
-Ability to attend in-person events in the Tri-State area; valid driver’s license preferred
-Internship, volunteer, or entry-level experience in nonprofit or development work preferred
-Familiarity with and affinity for Israel and the Jewish community
